Clay’s Quest

By Christi Williams

Synopsis –

She’ll do anything to get her way.

Tall, elegant and beautiful, Emma Thorpe has wanted a baby for years. The yearning for a child occupies all her thought, her time, her effort, and any money she and her husband can scrape up for medical intervention. After trying and failing to conceive, the solution that finally comes to her is to leave her husband and hope to find a man—any man—capable of fulfilling her deepest desire.

Big, handsome Clay Thorpe isn’t the kind of man to let his wife just wander away. It takes a few months of Emma’s absence from his bed to devise a plan, but he’s determined. Eventually, Clay lures Emma home with a convoluted strategy only he could concoct, involving an antique diamond ring, sex three times a day, and…a turkey baster?

Caution: This is a work of fiction. Please don’t attempt duplicating Clay’s methods!

Clays QuestVINTAGE REVIEW

Yes, I’ll be honest.  It was the turkey baster that got me.  Seriously.  I figure that any author that can throw in all the old wives’ tales about procreation without missing a beat REALLY deserved a Snarky Mom read.   Having personally dealt with fertility issues I can always appreciate an author who is able to approach such a sensitive subject with a sense of humor.   And when the author says not to duplicate Clay’s methods, let me just second that.  LOL!   People can’t always understand the strain that infertility can take on a marriage; the money it takes, the monotony that sex becomes, and the unreasonable resentment that builds up.   Emma solves the problem by sinking her efforts into her business and moving out of the house.  Her thought was to find someone – ANYONE – to get her pregnant, but she just canNOT find it in herself to want anyone but her husband.   One day Clay comes into her business and…. I don’t want to spoil it for you.  Not only has Christi Williams taken a touchy subject and made it heartfelt and humorous, but she’s made it H.O.T.!!  It’s nice to see a married couple have some smokin’ hot scenes.   Be aware this is the third in a series; no, I did not realize that until after I’d read it, so I can honestly say you can EASILY read this as a standalone.  (However, I will be going & grabbing the backlist of this series!)

Author Info – Christi Williams: I write about Wyoming. My enduring love is for the West, the Western mythos and its icons. My sweet Hawk Point romances are spiced with erotic love scenes that center on the mythical cowboy/lawman hero and the strong woman who loves him.
